The product is the documentation
Most filament brands publish a temperature range and a diameter. Some publish a tolerance. Polymaker publishes technical data sheets per grade with the sort of figures you can actually design against. That matters far beyond this one spool, because it means when you need to make a decision from a number, there is a number to make it from.
Consistency is the physical expression of the same thing. A spool that holds diameter tightly extrudes predictably, which means a profile tuned on one spool works on the next. If you have ever re-tuned flow because a new spool of the same product printed differently, that is the problem this brand is selling a solution to.
Is it worth the premium over budget PLA+?
It depends entirely on whether the variation is costing you anything.
Printing occasional parts one spool at a time? No. Buy SUNLU PLA+ and spend the difference on a dryer.
Printing a multi-spool object where a seam shows? Yes, clearly.
Selling prints, or printing to a dimension? Yes. The re-tuning time you stop spending is worth more than the price difference within a few spools.
PolyTerra, the matte line
PolyTerra is Polymaker's matte PLA and is priced close to ordinary PLA. The matte finish diffuses the reflection off each layer, so layer lines stop resolving to the eye — a visual improvement roughly equivalent to halving the layer height, at no speed cost. The matting agents are mildly abrasive, far below carbon or glass fill E3D, so no nozzle change is needed for normal use. We cover the finishes in matte and silk PLA.
Where the brand goes from here
The reason Polymaker appears across this whole site rather than only in the PLA section is that the same documentation discipline carries into materials where it matters far more: their ASA, TPU and nylon grades all ship with real data sheets. In PLA the documentation is a nice-to-have. In nylon, printing without a published drying figure is guesswork.

No. PolyLite is Polymaker's standard glossy PLA line and PolyTerra is the matte line. They print in the same window and are priced similarly; the difference is finish, and PolyTerra also uses less plastic packaging.
+ − Does Polymaker PLA need a hardened nozzle?
Not for PolyLite or PolyTerra. Matte additives are mildly abrasive but nowhere near the level at which E3D document measurable nozzle wear from filled filaments. Polymaker's carbon-filled grades are a different matter and do require one.
