ELEGOO ABS-Like 3.0 is the bottle most resin printers should start with: tough enough that a thin part bends before it snaps, stocked everywhere, and cheap enough that a failed plate does not hurt. The honest reservation is that ELEGOO ask you to take that on trust — they publish no numeric mechanical table for it, where ANYCUBIC and Siraya Tech both do.

ELEGOO ABS-Like ResinTougher than a standard photopolymer at close to standard-photopolymer money, in fourteen colors that behave the same way. The reason it is the default is availability as much as chemistry.405 nm, 1 kg and 2 kg
ELEGOO 8K Standard ResinCheaper than ABS-Like and sharper on a fine face, because a flat opaque gray is the right surface for judging detail. It also snaps, which is the trade.Opaque gray
ELEGOO Water Washable ResinGenuinely removes the isopropyl alcohol step. It does not remove the disposal problem — the rinse water inherits every restriction the alcohol had.Water rinse instead of IPA
Siraya Tech BluThe honest upgrade from ABS-Like. Siraya Tech publish a full mechanical table across the Blu series, so you can check the toughness claim instead of trusting it.32% elongation, published
ANYCUBIC Standard Resin+Cheaper per kilogram and brittle by its own maker's figures. Fine for a display piece, the wrong saving on anything that gets handled.12-16% elongation, publishedSkip this

What ELEGOO publish, and what they do not
Start here, because it is the most useful thing to know about this brand and nobody leads with it.
For ABS-Like Resin 3.0, ELEGOO publish the wavelength (405 nm), the bottle sizes (1 kg and 2 kg), fourteen colors, compatibility with LCD, MSLA and DLP machines and specifically their own Mars, Saturn and Jupiter series, and one comparative figure: the viscosity is 25 to 47% lower than ABS-Like 1.0 and 2.0 ELEGOO.
What they do not publish is a number for anything mechanical. No tensile strength, no elongation at break, no hardness, no impact figure, no absolute viscosity — the shrinkage is “lower” and the toughness is “ABS-like”. Their 8K Standard Resin page is the same: sizes, four colors, printer compatibility, and qualitative descriptions of low viscosity and low shrinkage ELEGOO.
What “ABS-Like” actually means
It means toughness, not chemistry. This is a photopolymer resin, not ABS; it does not share ABS’s heat resistance, it cannot be acetone smoothed, and nothing about it behaves like the filament of the same name. What the label is claiming is that a thin feature will bend further before it fractures than a standard resin’s would.
That claim is real in practice — it is why we make it the first bottle on the resin hub and on the brand roundup. The honest way to phrase it is that it is the recommendation of an entire hobby’s accumulated experience rather than the recommendation of a data sheet. If you want the same property with a number attached, that is the tough resin page and it ends up at Siraya Tech.
Which ELEGOO bottle for which job
ABS-Like 3.0 — the default
Buy this unless you have a specific reason not to. Minis that get handled, functional-ish brackets, prototypes, anything where a snapped thin section would be annoying. The lower viscosity in version 3.0 is a real quality-of-life change: thinner resin drains off the model and out of the vat faster, and wastes less in cleanup.
8K Standard — the detail bottle
Cheaper, sharper on a fine face, and brittle. The reason it can look better than ABS-Like on a miniature is not resolution in any meaningful sense — it is that opaque flat gray scatters less curing light inside the part, which is the whole argument on best resin for miniatures. For a display piece on a shelf, this is the better buy. For a model that gets picked up, it is not.
Water Washable — the workflow bottle
It does exactly what it says and the catch is downstream rather than in the print. Our water washable page states it plainly: the rinse water is contaminated with uncured resin and cannot go down a drain, so you have swapped a solvent disposal problem for a water disposal problem of the same legal weight.
Plant-based — the low odor bottle
Worth knowing about if the printer is somewhere you spend time. Our low odor page makes the necessary correction: low odor is a comfort upgrade, not a change of hazard class, and a good share of the smell people blame on resin is actually the isopropyl alcohol in the wash.
The underrated reason this brand wins
Resin is heavy, it is a liquid, and it is classed awkwardly for shipping. A bottle that is in stock at a normal price today is worth more than a marginally better bottle that is backordered, and ELEGOO are consistently the easiest resin to actually buy.
This is not a small point. Across the resins we track, the ones that lose their buy path are not the cheap ones — they are the specialist ones. We check availability before featuring anything, and the brands with narrow distribution are the ones that fail that check.
The part that does not change by brand
Every liquid photopolymer here is a skin sensitizer, sensitization is cumulative rather than immediate, and the controls are the same whichever bottle you buy: non-reactive nitrile or neoprene gloves every time, ventilation, and a disposal plan made before you need it Formlabs. ELEGOO’s own pages are quiet on this, which is another argument for reading the safety page once properly rather than per bottle.
Verdict
ELEGOO ABS-Like 3.0 is the right recommendation for a first bottle and we are not withdrawing it: it is tough enough, cheap enough and available enough that it is hard to make a mistake with. Buy it.
Buy Siraya Tech instead the moment the part matters enough that you want to check a figure rather than trust a label — not because Blu is necessarily tougher than ABS-Like, but because with Blu you can find out, and with ABS-Like you cannot.

ELEGOO ABS-Like Resin
ELEGOO
Best first bottle for almost anyone · 9.0/10 our fit score
The default first bottle. Tougher than standard resin, cheap, and stocked everywhere.
Published specifications for ELEGOO ABS-Like Resin
No. It is a photopolymer resin, and “ABS-Like” is a claim about toughness rather than chemistry. It does not share ABS’s heat resistance and cannot be acetone smoothed. What the name is promising is that a thin feature bends further before fracturing than a standard resin’s would.
+ − Does ELEGOO publish a technical data sheet for its resin?
Not a numeric one on the product pages. For ABS-Like 3.0 they publish wavelength, bottle sizes, colors, printer compatibility and one comparative viscosity figure — 25 to 47% lower than versions 1.0 and 2.0 — but no tensile strength, elongation, hardness or impact number. Both ANYCUBIC and Siraya Tech do publish those for their equivalent bottles.
+ − ELEGOO ABS-Like or ELEGOO 8K Standard?
ABS-Like if the model gets handled, 8K Standard if it sits on a shelf. Standard is cheaper and renders a fine face slightly better, mostly because an opaque flat gray scatters less curing light inside thin features. It is also brittle, so a thin sword or an outstretched arm will snap.
+ − Is ELEGOO resin good for miniatures?
Yes, and which bottle depends on whether the miniature is handled. For display, an opaque gray standard resin is the classic answer. For gaming pieces that get picked up every session, ABS-Like survives the handling. Settings matter more than the bottle either way — see our miniatures page for the exposure and layer-height discussion.
