For a Mars or a Saturn, ELEGOO ABS-Like 3.0 is the right default bottle — ELEGOO publish compatibility with the Mars, Saturn and Jupiter series by name, and it is the one resin on this page you can be confident is stocked next month. Printing display models rather than parts? Their 8K Standard is cheaper and sharper, and you accept that thin features will snap.

ELEGOO ABS-Like ResinThe house resin, and genuinely the right default: tough enough for handled models, cheap, and the compatibility is published rather than inferred.Mars, Saturn and Jupiter named
ELEGOO 8K Standard ResinCheaper than ABS-Like and better at fine detail, because an opaque flat gray scatters less curing light inside thin features. Brittle, so keep it on the shelf rather than in a hand.Opaque gray
Siraya Tech Blu405 nm resin works in a 405 nm printer regardless of badge. Buy this when the part has a job and you want a published figure behind the toughness claim.32% elongation, published
ELEGOO FEP Release Film for MarsThe film is the part that fails, and it fails mid-print. ELEGOO publish the model fit, so there is no guesswork — buy the spare before you need it.Mars 4, Mars 5 and Mars 5 Ultra
ELEGOO PFA Release Liner Film 2.0The Saturn-sized equivalent. Match the film to the machine name on the listing; a Mars film will not fit a Saturn vat.Saturn 4 and Saturn 4 Ultra 16K
ANYCUBIC Standard Resin+It will print fine in an ELEGOO machine — this is not a lock-in problem. It is brittle by its own maker's published figures, which is the actual reason to think twice.12-16% elongationSkip this

A resin printer with a finished model still on the build plate.
Does the resin have to match the printer?
No. Every resin on this page and almost every consumer resin on the market cures at 405 nm, which is the wavelength every mainstream masked-LCD printer emits. ELEGOO’s own pages say so from the other direction: ABS-Like 3.0 is listed as compatible with all LCD, MSLA and DLP printers, and then separately as fully compatible with the Mars, Saturn and Jupiter series ELEGOO.
So this is not a lock-in question. What buying the printer maker’s resin actually gets you is narrower and still worth something.
Named compatibility. “Fully compatible with Mars, Saturn and Jupiter” is a statement you can point at, rather than an inference from a wavelength.
A shared starting point with everyone else. The exposure settings other Mars and Saturn owners publish are overwhelmingly for ELEGOO resin in ELEGOO machines, so your starting numbers come from a much larger pool.
Availability. Resin is a heavy liquid and awkward to ship. A bottle that is reliably in stock is worth more than a marginally better one that is not.
Which bottle, by what you print
Models that get handled: ABS-Like 3.0
Gaming miniatures, props, anything that lives in a hand rather than on a shelf. The lower viscosity in version 3.0 — ELEGOO state 25 to 47% lower than versions 1.0 and 2.0 ELEGOO — also makes drain-off and cleanup noticeably less annoying on a tall Saturn plate.
Display models: 8K Standard
Busts, dioramas, display pieces. ELEGOO publish it in four opaque and off-white finishes ELEGOO, and the gray one is the one to buy: opaque flat gray is the right surface for judging a fine face, for the optics reason our best resin for miniatures page opens with. It is cheaper than ABS-Like, and it snaps.
Parts with a job: Siraya Tech Blu
Brackets, clips, housings, anything structural. This is where leaving the ELEGOO range is clearly correct: Siraya Tech publish 32% elongation at break and 50 MPa tensile stress at break for Regular Blu Siraya Tech, so the toughness is a figure rather than a label. Our tough resin page covers the trade against detail.
Washing without alcohol: Water Washable
ELEGOO’s water washable bottle works and the catch is downstream — the rinse water is contaminated and not drain-safe. Our water washable page states it plainly rather than burying it.
The consumable that actually decides your month
The release film is the part of a resin printer that wears out, and it fails by letting a print come loose mid-job. ELEGOO publish film products by machine family, which removes the usual sizing guesswork: an FEP film set for Mars 4, Mars 5 and Mars 5 Ultra ELEGOO, and a PFA release liner for the Saturn 4 and Saturn 4 Ultra 16K ELEGOO.
Buy the spare before you need it. Our FEP film page covers the replacement interval and the tensioning that actually determines how long a film lasts.
Exposure: start from the community, verify yourself
Every new bottle needs an exposure test, and that is true whether or not the badge on the bottle matches the badge on the printer. Screen age matters, room temperature matters and resin batch matters. The method is on resin exposure settings, and it takes one small print rather than an evening.
Worth noting by contrast: ANYCUBIC publish a per-printer parameter table covering eighteen of their own machines ANYCUBIC, which ELEGOO do not. If you own an ELEGOO printer your starting numbers come from the community rather than from the maker — abundant, but unsourced.
The part that is the same on every machine
Gloves every time, ventilation, and a disposal plan made before you need one. Sensitization to liquid photopolymer builds up over months rather than happening on first contact, which is exactly why casual handling is the risk Formlabs. Our resin safety page is the one page on this site we would ask you to read before buying anything.
Verdict for a Mars or Saturn owner
Keep two bottles on the shelf: ABS-Like 3.0 for anything handled, and 8K Standard in opaque gray for display work. Add Siraya Tech Blu when a print has to survive being used rather than looked at. Keep a spare release film for your specific machine, because that is the failure that costs you a print rather than a reprint.

Best all-round bottle for a Mars or Saturn · 9.0/10 our fit score
The default first bottle. Tougher than standard resin, cheap, and stocked everywhere.
Published specifications for ELEGOO ABS-Like Resin
+ − Do I have to use ELEGOO resin in an ELEGOO printer?
No. Almost every consumer resin cures at 405 nm, which is what every mainstream masked-LCD printer emits, and ELEGOO themselves list ABS-Like 3.0 as compatible with all LCD, MSLA and DLP printers. What the house brand gives you is named compatibility with the Mars, Saturn and Jupiter series, a larger pool of published exposure settings, and reliable stock.
+ − What is the best resin for an ELEGOO Mars 5 Ultra?
ELEGOO ABS-Like 3.0 for models that get handled and 8K Standard in opaque gray for display pieces. Both are published as compatible with the Mars series. Keep a spare FEP film for the Mars 4 and Mars 5 family on hand, since the film is the consumable that fails mid-print.
+ − What is the best resin for an ELEGOO Saturn 4 Ultra?
The same bottles — resin choice follows what you are printing rather than which Saturn you own. The difference that matters on a Saturn is plate size: a tall full plate drains more resin, which is where ABS-Like 3.0’s lower viscosity helps, and it takes the PFA release liner rather than the Mars FEP film.
+ − Is ELEGOO ABS-Like or 8K Standard better for miniatures?
Depends whether the miniature gets picked up. 8K Standard in an opaque gray renders a fine face slightly better, because opaque gray scatters less curing light inside thin features. ABS-Like survives handling. For a display bust, Standard. For a gaming piece used every session, ABS-Like.
